Job Summary:

• Teach doctoral-level courses in qualitative research methodology, including design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation;
• Serve as a committee member, including dissertation chair for doctoral candidates, guiding students from proposal to final defense, with a particular focus on qualitative and mixed-methods research designs;
• Teach master's-level courses designed to prepare students for K-12 school leader certification, including curriculum development, school law, finance, management of personnel, supervision of assessment, and instructional leadership;
• Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment for both the master's and doctoral programs, ensuring alignment with state and national standards (e.g., PSEL, NELP);
• Maintain an active research agenda and a record of scholarly publication;
• Demonstrate strong writing and editing skills, providing high-level feedback to students on their scholarly work;
• Engage in service to the department, college, and university. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, but can be reduced when hours are funded by a grant (6 hours max.);
• Participation in service activities for the Department, the University, your discipline, and the community is also expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Ed. D. in Educational Leadership or related field and MA in Educational Leadership or related field;
• Strong commitment to teaching a full load of 24 credit hours per academic year;
• Serve on and Chair dissertation committees;
• Write and speak English proficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with teaching, as well as a strong publication record covering any special problem in education;
• At least 3 years of K – 12 school leader experience in Louisiana;
• Commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population; and
• Commitment to the mission of Xavier University of Louisiana.
