As a member of the Pharmacy Department, the Pediatric ED Clinical Pharmacist will provide clinical pharmacy services to the ED (freestanding and main campus). The Clinical Pharmacist will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, appropriate, comprehensive and cost-effective drug therapy.
Job responsibilities include the following:
Reviews drug therapies and applies appropriate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations
Develops and implements clinical practice guidelines to enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety
Serves as a drug information resource for physicians, nurses, fellow pharmacists, and other healthcare providers
Detects and documents adverse drug reactions, clinical interventions, and medication errors
Participates in inventory management for freestanding ED
PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residencies OR PGY1 residency with 2-4 years of related hospital pharmacist practice experience (pediatrics preferred) with responsibility for direct clinical patient care
