We’re growing and strengthening our leadership team with a forward-thinking Financial Controller who will drive financial excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.
Position Overview
The Financial Controller will lead all core accounting operations, manage a high-performing team, and serve as a key strategic partner to senior leadership. This role oversees timely and accurate financials, compliance with GAAP, automation improvements, and the financial integrity needed to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including AP/AR, General Ledger, and Job Cost Accounting
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes with operations leadership
- Manage year-end closing, annual audits, and tax coordination
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
- Enhance accounting systems, reporting tools, and automation strategies
- Provide financial guidance to leadership for strategic decision-making
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promoting accountability and growth
- Support contract review, vendor negotiations, and operational cost management
- Oversee fixed assets, inventory, WIP adjustments, and revenue recognition
- Partner with HR on benefit reporting and compensation compliance
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in job cost reporting for project performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or CMA required
- 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Experience in construction or job-cost accounting highly desirable
- Strong understanding of GAAP and construction financial workflows
- Advanced Excel competency and familiarity with ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-departmentally
- Proven track record improving processes, controls, and systems
