Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Senior Database Administrator/Systems Analyst. The Senior Database Administrator/Systems Analyst serves as the technical lead in advising management on matters pertaining to Xavier University databases and technologies to support the university's faculty, staff, and students and confers with and advises colleagues and stakeholders of various databases. This individual will have knowledge and understanding of the Oracle database environment and must deliver applicable solutions within assigned time-frames while supporting existing infrastructure and systems. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field
Eight to Ten years of experience working/administering enterprise level databases like Oracle and MSSQL, and Enterprise Systems such as Ellucian / Banner, Appworx, and Xtender.
Experience in managing multiple database environments and acting as a technical lead in enterprise-level database administration and/or design
Higher Ed or Public sector experience working in a senior database administration environment
Proficiency in systems design, applications development and programming and scripting required
Ability to program in system support tasks in C, C++, Java, Perl, batch, Power/Shell, or other general-purpose programming languages;
Perform complex performance analysis including databases and system processes as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science information technology, computer science or a closely related field.
Knowledge of SQL databases; such as Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL.
Knowledge of Operating Systems; such as Windows 2016, Windows 2012, Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu Linux
Understanding of core enterprise services; Active Directory, DNS
