System Vice President of Quality and Safety
New Orleans, LA – Ochsner Health is seeking a passionate and experienced senior leader to serve as the System Vice President of Quality and Safety. This position affords a collaborative and dynamic executive the opportunity to join one of the largest academic health systems in the country. The System Vice President of Quality and Safety will strive to advance a culture of clinical excellence across the continuum, guiding the system to new operational standards of care delivery.

Working across a complex and highly matrixed health system, the System Vice President of Quality and Safety is responsible for the strategic vision, long term planning, direction and overall accountability for quality outcomes, performance improvement, accreditation, infection prevention and clinical risk management for the enterprise. The System Vice President of Quality and Safety will support operational leaders in the further integration of quality and safety functions, in a manner that leverages and optimizes clinical operations of Ochsner Health's entities and creates seamless integration throughout the system. This leader will promote a High Reliability Organization and Just Culture of shared responsibility and clinical practice standards to assure maximum patient safety and the highest quality of care delivered across the continuum. They will also provide executive oversight and guidance for all regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be a passionate and energetic change agent with a proven track record in creating a culture of quality, safety and performance improvement with a minimum of five years progressive leadership in a complex, academic medical center or health system. A Master’s degree in a health care field or business administration is required, and those with a clinical background are encouraged to apply.
The next System Vice President of Quality and Safety must have knowledge and training in process improvement, change management and a dedication to utilize data to drive operational improvements through process and technology. They will have experience in successfully managing quality performance improvement, accreditation and data; expertise in regulatory surveys; implementing best practice protocols; competent in statistical and data analysis; and experience with data repositories, registries and/or warehouses is helpful.
The ideal candidate will be a visible, transparent and decisive leader and excellent communicator, who is able to foster relationships and collaboration across Ochsner Health.
