The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports to the Golf Course Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent must have working knowledge on turfgrass cultivation practices, daily golf course maintenance and course setup. We are looking for a detail oriented candidate. This would be a great opportunity to learn at a high end private facility in a cultural rich city with great opportunity for growth. In the fall of 2023 NOCC will be taking on a full golf course renovation project. A renovation project would help professional development immensely in the golf course management business. This project will include re-grassing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Also, new bunker liner installation, 2 wire irrigation system, new pump station, and more upgrades to the infrastructure system.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Oversees maintenance of turfgrass and trees on property
- Daily monitoring staff's productivity
- Assists with daily staff scheduling
- Moisture management
- Irrigation troubleshooting and repair
- Fertilizer application and calibration
- Pesticide application
- Assist in mixing and application of fertilizers and chemicals
- Must be able to carryout assignments as directed by the golf course superintendent
- Continue to train and cross train staff on safety and equipment operation
- Recording daily weather, chemical and fertilizer applications, and work hours
- Must be detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Planning and organizational ability
- Willing to work weekends and holidays
- Obtain a Louisiana Pesticide license within 90 days of employment
New Orleans Country Club is a Private country club established in 1914. The golf course sits on 95 acres fairways are Tif Sport bermudagrass, tee boxes are Zeon Zoysia, and greens are Tif Eagle Bermudagrass. In 2018 we completed a 3 acre short game practice facility equipped with 3 greens and 8 bunkers. New Orleans Country Club also offers 10 tennis courts, swimming pool, fitness center and 60,000 sq. ft. clubhouse.
