The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Critical Care at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (CHNOLA), is seeking two full-time academic pediatric intensivists at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to join our Pediatric Critical Care faculty group. The positions will be non-tenure level positions commensurate with experience. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHNOLA is a very busy 18+ bed unit with capabilities in all aspects of the critical care of children including ECMO, solid organ and bone marrow transplant, and renal replacement therapies. CHNOLA functions as a busy level 2 pediatric trauma center pending official designation and is currently developing a pediatric burn center. The Pediatric Critical Care service line at CHNOLA cares for approximately 1500 patients annually. The team will include 11 intensivists and 4 advanced care providers and is a uniquely shared practice of the LSU and Tulane divisions of Pediatric Critical Care. The Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit at CHNOLA is staffed by dedicated cardiac intensivists; coverage of this unit is not a responsibility of our section. The Department of Pediatrics at LSU is committed to providing excellence in education, clinical care, and research. The selected candidates will become actively involved in all aspects of teaching including training medical students and residents. Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible to practice pediatric critical care.
