University Medical Center New Orleans is seeking Clinical Pharmacists to join our team of 15 clinical specialists in two key areas: Oncology and Internal Medicine Flex PRN.

Oncology
University Medical Center provides comprehensive cancer services that include infusion therapy, radiation oncology, advanced imaging, clinical trials, and survivorship care. The selected Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings and support the safe and effective use of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care therapies. Responsibilities include verifying treatment plans, monitoring for toxicity, optimizing supportive care, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, responding to drug information requests, and supporting transitions of care.

Internal Medicine Flex PRN
The PRN Clinical Pharmacist will support internal medicine and surgical services by providing evidence-based medication management for hospitalized patients. Core responsibilities include reviewing medication orders, optimizing pharmacotherapy plans, monitoring for safety and efficacy, addressing real-time drug information needs, and supporting transitions of care.

Across both roles, clinical specialists contribute to departmental quality and safety initiatives, assist with clinical guideline and pathway development, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and pharmacy leadership. Opportunities are also available to precept learners, provide education to healthcare staff, and participate in projects that advance pharmacy services throughout the medical center.

Both positions require a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, eligibility for pharmacist licensure in the state of Louisiana, and completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, with two to three years of inpatient clinical or hospital experience preferred and residency training acceptable in meeting this expectation.
