Job Summary:

• In conjunction with the Program Director participate in coordinating, overseeing, teaching, and designing a challenging didactic curriculum while facilitating professional development.  
• Participate in accreditation activities, accreditation documentation and leading the implementation of quality assurance practices related to the didactic education curriculum, students, and instructors.   
• Serve as a course instructor in areas where he/she has demonstrated competence and experience and the ability to develop instructional materials in evidence-based practice and research as needed by the program.   
• Participate in clinical practice or scholarly activities including research and active participation in state or national organizations.  
• Assist in reviewing and updating the student handbook on an annual basis.  
• Assist in recruitment and selection of applicants for admission which includes reviewing applications and conducting interviews.  
• Ensure appropriate counseling, advising, and mentoring of students. Reviews didactic/academic/clinical performance with students as needed.  
• Provide remedial instruction as needed.  
• Participate in PA program, college, and university committees and attend related functions. 
• Maintain clinical competency and knowledge of current best practices within the profession (if a licensed PA, PharmD or MD).  
• Uphold the values and mission of Xavier University of Louisiana.  
• Support the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity.  
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director.
