This job maintains and ensures complete and appropriate drug therapy in a multidisciplinary pharmaceutical care environment. Assumes responsibility for the management of pharmacy services with the goal of ensuring the patient receives complete and appropriate drug therapy and improving patient outcomes. Provides drug information to patients and healthcare providers. Works to resolve prior authorizations and all insurance billing on behalf of the patient and provider. Oversees the Patient Advocate team. Performs drug utilization review and checks for appropriateness. Works with Specialty Fulfillment team to ensure complete and timely receipt of medications and compliance with drug therapy.
Job Duties

Education
Required – Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Preferred – Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency
Work Experience
Required – None
Preferred – 2 years experience as pharmacist
Experience in specialty pharmacy
Certification
Required – License to practice Pharmacy by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
Preferred – Multi-state licensure
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
