Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for Senior Programmer. This position reports to the Director and Banner Projects Manager for the Office of Technology Administration. This position creates and maintains computer programs, program documentation, and operating instructions, performs leadership responsibilities in the development of reusable programming solutions, participates in the systems design process, and frequently assumes responsibility for project maintenance, major modifications, or development of systems. Minimum Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
BS/BA in Computer Science, Business, or related field
Minimum 5-9 years' experience in BANNERERP system or other enterprise system software development and training and/or process support role as a prior business or programmer analyst
Technical project management and team coordination experience in a business environment
Experience with training, software development methodologies and project management a plus
Proficiency in systems design, applications development and programming and Scripting
Programming experience must include fluency in procedural, object-oriented, and functional programming concepts, and experience in the following: JavaScript, XML, PL/SQL, T-SQL, Perl, Python, Ruby, Rust, Go, C/C++, C#, Java, Groovy, Scala, or Erlang, batch
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively articulate functional and technical information to a variety of audiences
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously
Must have a willingness to educate their coworkers, have patience and the capability to support end-users
Knowledge of and ability to program using SQL databases; such as Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
Technically savvy with a solid understanding of database concepts, functional software setups, writing reports and understanding of business processes
Must be well organized, efficient, results and detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as a member of a team
Strong leadership and people skills;
Must have the ability to interact, influence and collaborate with associates and management at all levels
