Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow. This postdoctoral fellowship opportunity provides innovative research training in community outreach in engagement in cancer prevention and control. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the auspices of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC) Office of Community Outreach and Engagement and Xavier University of Louisiana RCMI Community Engagement Core, which aim to: assess and prioritize the cancer-related needs, disparities and opportunities in our catchment area populations and assess impact; engage with institutional programs to facilitate research that is responsive to our catchment's cancer-related needs and community-driven priorities; and work with community partners to promote participation in clinical trials and to implement/disseminate evidence-based interventions and guidelines, in order to impact clinical practice, health behaviors and public policy in Louisiana and the Gulf region. There will be considerable opportunities for the postdoctoral scholar to participate in the development and implementation of several research and community engagement projects, project coordination, recruitment, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. The postdoctoral fellowship is for a 12-month period, with the option to renew for additional years, contingent on performance. The fellow will report to Dr. LaKeisha Williams. AA/EOE
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in public health, or a related discipline focused on behavioral intervention research.
Excellent writing, communication and engagement skills required.
Applicants must have a demonstrated record of working in a diverse environment, preferably at the community level.
Quantitative or qualitative data analysis skills including ability to use statistical packages and proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases.
