TriSearch is representing an amazing Foundation that protects, preserves and perpetuates New Orleans music & culture through engaging and supporting musicians; providing support and services to elder members of their collective; conserving and sharing jazz music archives and spaces; providing educational experiences for students, families and the general public; and grantmaking to recognize merit and/or alleviate need.
TriSearch has been retained by this Foundation to assist them in their search for a Programs Director. The Programs Director will be responsible for developing, prioritizing, coordinating and executing program functions related to the strategic delivery of the foundation’s mission and values. This individual will need to have a deep understanding of and experience in creating and executing program activities in arts and culture.

Education: Kids educational field trips, music and culture online educational lessons & resources.
Community Engagement: Community concerts, CE grants to local artists and cultural organizations
Musician Support:Legacy support and services for elder musicians, emergency relief grants
Archives: Cataloguing, preserving and sharing artifacts and resources in the foundation archive as well as chronicling ongoing activities for posterity
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute a strategic vision of providing quality programming and impact for the following areas: Education, Musician Support and Legacy Fund, Archives, etc.
Work with Management Team & HR to design appropriate Programs team structure, titles and requirements/job descriptions, and lead the hiring process.
Set annual program goals and determine and track program metrics.
Oversee strategic planning process for programs and prioritizing of programmatic priorities and key activities in coordination with Board Chairman and Creative Director, ensuring all programs have budgets and strategic growth plans each year.
Work with the Executive Director to estimate and communicate budgetary expectations for upcoming program projects upon yearly goals. Lead and oversee preparation of the annual budget as it relates to programs.
Work with the Development Director to prepare program descriptions, vision, data and financials for grant applications and donor outreach, as well as tracking and presenting progress against goals for grant reports as well as board/donor updates.
Responsible for ongoing management of all programs related work for the Foundation and fostering cross-departmental and cross-programmatic synergies.
Liaise with staff and musicians directly on Foundation and venue event activities.
Oversee and assist Program support staff on the education and training to board, leadership, and staff on the execution of program related activities and expenses.
Supervision, mentoring and review of the performance of all direct reports.
Collaborate with relevant boards and advisory committees as well as musical collectives to create, adapt and assess programmatic activities.
Co-create funding opportunities with Development Director that ensure program impact and metrics are attainable.
MA/MS or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Advanced degree and/or social work training highly desirable.
10+ years of experience with managing programs/project management (in arts and cultural institutions and/or equivalent organizations is preferred).
Ability to wear many hats and manage numerous tasks effectively.
Proven ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Detail-oriented and structured administrative experience.
Must possess excellent communications skills and customer service orientation.
Ability to successfully work in a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
