We’re seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist for an exciting opportunity to serve as Section Head of Pediatric Nephrology at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will develop and lead a comprehensive pediatric kidney care program within Ochsner’s Health’s regional health system, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in the Gulf South.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Leadership and Program Development
Collaborate with Departmental leaders to develop and lead an integrated regional pediatric nephrology program.
Opportunity for qualified candidates to develop a pediatric kidney transplant program to complement existing pediatric liver, heart, and bone marrow transplant programs.
Clinical Care
Provide inpatient and outpatient kidney care for children with acute, chronic and end-stage renal disease.
Partner with medical and surgical colleagues to serve children with complex conditions in multidisciplinary programs.
Teaching and Research
Teach medical students, residents, and allied health students.
Clinical and translational research opportunities abound for qualified candidates.
Academic appointment commensurate with experience.
The Department of Pediatrics and our pediatric subspecialists (collectively, Ochsner for Children™) represent over 200 pediatric physicians. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric services including bone marrow transplantation, solid organ transplantation, pediatric cardiovascular surgery as well as the region’s only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center. We utilize a 54-bed Level III-C Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CVICU, a 35-bed pediatric acute unit, as well as dedicated, full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams and are actively planning expansions.
