The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Dentistry at New Orleans seeks nominations and applications for the position of Chair, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, a full-time tenure track position at the associate professor or professor level. The School of Dentistry seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence in dental education. The Chair is an integral part of the School of Dentistry’s Leadership team. The position is associated with four critical areas of responsibility: pre-doctoral education, advanced education, scholarly activity, and patient care. Other duties will include administrative responsibilities such as departmental planning, budgeting, staffing, and supervision. This position reports to the Dean of the School of Dentistry. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
Qualification Requirements: Candidates must possess highly developed academic leadership skills and outstanding academic credentials including an established record of scholarly productivity. Applicants must have a D.D.S. / D.M.D. degree or equivalent and completion of on A.D.A. -accredited advanced education program in Pediatric Dentistry. A record of extramural research funding, an advanced degree, and certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry are highly desirable qualifications.
