Ursuline Academy of New Orleans seeks an Associate Director of Development for the 2022-2023 school year. This position reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement and is responsible for the strategic leadership of the Serviam Annual Fund program and the Annual Fund donations for the Serviam Annual Fund. This position also supports other aspects of development and constituent outreach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Model the Ursuline values of service, courtesy, loyalty, and courage by attitude and action. Integrate the Ursuline Mission and Core Values into all activities.
• Contribute to the mission and standards of the school by actively educating in a way that fosters and promotes the Academy’s unique culture and programmatic offerings.
• Create compelling Annual Giving solicitations and Capital Campaign solicitations.
• Exercise collaboration skills within the Advancement Team and with other Administrative teams, staff, faculty, alumnae, and community.
• Act as liaison and promote understanding, appreciation, communication, and goodwill between the constituencies and the institution.
• In collaboration with the Director of Alumnae Relations, research and generate ideas to increase charitable giving at the school, strengthen alumnae relations, and solicit donors for charitable gifts and the Serviam Annual Fund.
• Stay updated on fundraising trends and best practices in private and independent education and share findings with the Advancement team.
• Manage fundraising programs and events that involve volunteers from all constituencies.
• In collaboration with the Director of Communications, develop various ways to communicate with potential donors.
• Process all financial gifts. This includes recording donation checks, generating weekly deposit slips, and generating acknowledgment letters to donors.
• Input, maintain, and report on all Advancement data in data management systems, ensuring that all data sets are error-free.
• Work with the Business Office to reconcile gift amounts in Raiser’s Edge with accounts receivable.
Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required 1-2 years experience in fundraising required
Qualification Preferences:
• 3-5 years of experience in fundraising in a private educational environment preferred • Capital campaign experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading an annual giving program and personally soliciting major gifts.
• Expertise utilizing data to meet and surpass goals preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team, with leadership, and with volunteers.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Strong networking skills to ensure access to resources in the broader community
• Detail-oriented and resourceful
• Computer skills: proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of other computer applications, such as Google Drive, Photoshop, Sales Force
