Ursuline Academy of New Orleans seeks a Director of Institutional Advancement for the 2021-2022 school year. The Director of Institutional Advancement provides strategic vision and leadership for Ursuline Academy’s Institutional Advancement Team, which comprises Development, Enrollment Management, Alumnae Relations, and Communications departments.
The Director is responsible for developing and implementing school-wide strategies for all individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising, as well as the Academy's Capital Campaign. In addition, this position is responsible for soliciting major gifts ($100,000+), gifts related to the Academy's Capital Campaign, molding and implementing robust enrollment management strategies; developing and implementing alumnae events and outreach; and coordinating all internal and external communications, including branding and messaging in print and digital media.
The Director is a member of the Administrative Team and reports to the President. As a member of the Administrative Team, the Director of Institutional Advancement works collaboratively with all team members and participates in Ursuline’s organizational strategy and management.
Manage an Institutional Advancement Team to support the development and execution of the Institutional Advancement strategies.
Provide dynamic leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of short and long-term goals and strategies that increase fundraising revenue growth, increased enrollment, and improved image, thereby helping to ensure the achievement of organizational strategic objectives.
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality using a supportive and collaborative approach consistently. • Establish and monitor performance and development of goals, setting objectives, establishing priorities, assigning accountabilities, and conducting annual performance appraisals. • Ensure projections and data-driven evaluations of fundraising, enrollment, and marketing and communications goals.
Represent Ursuline and partner with the President and Chair of the Board of Trustees to cultivate and solicit prospects and donors.
Collaborate with the leadership team to identify internal and external fundraising and donor communications opportunities and develop and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
In partnership with the Development Department, ensures expanding the donor base, stewarding current donors and foundation relations, leading event planning and events, and supervising the production of essential reports.
In partnership with the Associate Director of Enrollment Management, creates and implements a robust enrollment management plan in support of institutional goals to build awareness, engagement, and enrollment.
Provide the Associate Director of Enrollment Management guidance regarding best practices in order to increase awareness, applications, registrations, and retention of students and their families.
In partnership with Alumnae Relations, ensures continual and effective outreach to alumnae, leading event planning and events and supervising alumnae database management.
In partnership with the Associate Director of Communications, supervises the design and implementation of all school communications in support of institutional goals to build awareness, engagement, support, and enrollment.
With the Finance Department and other executive staff, provides revenue projections to support the annual school budget and develop and manage the departmental budget.
Communicate a comprehensive knowledge of Ursuline to many varied audiences.
• At the request of the President, and when appropriate, is prepared to serve as an Ursuline spokesperson.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Business-related fields
3-5 years of experience in Development or Enrollment Management required
Demonstrated success leading development and personally soliciting major gifts.
Expertise utilizing data to meet and surpass goals preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team, with leadership, and with volunteers.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strong networking skills to ensure access to resources in the broader community
Detail-oriented and resourceful
Qualification Preferences: Master’s Degree in Education or Business related fields
