Sugar Bowl Committee: Internship positions available. The Sugar Bowl Committee is accepting applications for two internship positions in the Bowl’s office. The paid positions are for 10 months, beginning in August and running through May. Internship positions will be in the areas of Operations and Events & Social Media. Operations Intern will assist with team and stadium operations. Events & Social Media Intern will assist with hospitality events and social media platforms. Specific duties for the Sugar Bowl and its calendar of events will depend upon the background and experience of the applicant but will include work on the 2024 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic and other Committee sponsored events. Event Prompt: Each year the Sugar Bowl hosts hospitality functions for the two participating teams in the Sugar Bowl game. Please create a hospitality event for one of the teams to attend during their week-long stay in New Orleans. Please limit your response to the event prompt to one page.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Effective written and oral communications skills, along with strong computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Postgraduate coursework
Prior practical collegiate athletics experience in the areas referenced (Operations, Events and Social Media) will receive priority consideration
Mission: The Sugar Bowl's mission is to seek out, promote, finance, sponsor, schedule, conduct, and operate an annual calendar of local, state, national and international amateur and collegiate sporting events in the Greater New Orleans area and the State of Louisiana for the purpose of generating tourism. On January 1, 2024, the Organization will host the 90th Annual Sugar Bowl Classic in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Membership and Staff: There are over 125 individuals comprising the current membership of the Sugar Bowl Committee. These members represent the Organization on various working committees designed to carry out the Sugar Bowl's mission. The Organization's day-to-day operations are conducted in its office located in the Caesars Superdome and are handled by a full-time staff of 10 employees.
