Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Email Administrator. The Email Administrator, administers, maintains, and supports the University's email systems. Monitors server performance and email routing by performing various qualitative assessments and spot checks on network performance levels as it relates to mail traffic. Lengthy experience in working with email security protocols. Creates user accounts and maintains security levels on databases. Includes anti-spam/anti-virus, archiving, mobile device support, and bulk email systems utilizing technologies to ensure efficient mail flow and delivery to internal and external organizations. Investigates any reports of problems with the university's email systems. Employs best practices in mail filtering. Generates reports for email system performance, usage, and mail filtering. Provides first tier end-user support and troubleshoots issues for problem resolution. Provides recommendations and plans for improvements to email systems. Document internal policies and develop training for end-users. AA/EOE
Minimum Qualifications:
· A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related degree
· Prior work experience (4-5 years) with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Outlook Email and Calendar system, Microsoft Exchange
· System administration work experience with enterprise G-Suite email system
· At least two years of PC/LAN experience, preferably with email system
· In-depth knowledge of all Office 365 /Exchange Online and supporting services
· Administration of email encryption services and technologies
· Knowledge in PowerShell; create and maintain scripts/application code utilizing PowerShell or appropriate coding langue or administration and operation of email related services
· Proven experience to quickly troubleshoot and fix difficult technical problems
· Knowledge of industry-standard best practices for IT support (e.g., ITIL) change control, project management
Preferred Qualifications:
· Technically savvy with a solid understanding of enterprise email systems and technology infrastructure
· Must have written and interpersonal skills essential when communicating with clients
· Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
· Customer focus and ability to understand customer needs.
· Experienced effectively communicating with a variety of people in different roles, i.e., clients, management, and technical staff
· Strong oral and written and communication skills
· Ability to coordinate the activities of a diverse set of IT resources in a matrix environment
· Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Proven collaboration & teamwork abilities; proven initiative, established professionalism and proficiency, basic project management experience, technical documentation skills
