The Divison of Business at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a tenure track position in Healthcare Management at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2023. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Heathcare Management/Administration or a highly related field. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree is required by July 13, 2023. The Division is seeking candidates with research, teaching, and organizational experience in Healthcare Management.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research with undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities include introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in Healthcare Management with courses including but not limited to Intro to Heathcare Management, The US Health System, Reimbursement Systems and Revenue Management, and Healthcare Organizational Leadership and Improvement. Candidates should also expect to be part of curriculum and course creation and revision.
The Division of Business is an ACBSP Accredited program with a mission to Prepare Tomorrow's Socially Responsible Leaders. This is a new program which will join a BS in Accounting and a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in either Management, Sales and Marketing, or Finance. Our faculty members are active scholars who teach a highly engaged undergraduate population. Applications are encouraged from applicants with a strong background in any health care management setting. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, minimizing barriers and increasing equity and completion rates between members of different demographic groups.

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Doctorate in a Management field with a Masters degree in Healthcare Management. These candidates must bring extensive experience in teaching Healthcare Management courses and/or extensive experience in the healthcare industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
An earned Doctorate in Heathcare Management/Administration, or a related health management/economics/marketing field.
Successful experience in undergraduate teaching.
Successful experience teaching to a diverse student body and knowledge of effective strategies (e.g. culturally responsive or inclusive pedagogy, awareness of issues that may affect the success of minoritized students).
Awareness of pedagogical best practices and ongoing commitment to developing and maintaining knowledge in this area.
A documented research agenda connected to the area of teaching.
