Position DescriptionThe History Department and the Africana Studies Program at Tulane University invite applications for a tenure-line faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Modern African American History (post-1865). The field of research is open, teaching experience preferred. Appointments would begin July 1, 2023. The successful candidate will have a tenure home in the History Department and a joint appointment in the Africana Studies Program, with teaching and service divided equally between the two units. Tulane’s Africana Studies Program is comprised of both joint and affiliate faculty committed to the interdisciplinary and global study of Africa and its diasporas. Most courses will be cross-listed.
