Xavier University of Louisiana's University Library seeks dynamic, engaging, and collaborative professional librarians to virtually join the Library Team. This team of remote Librarians will provide a range of virtual services to the University's students, faculty, and community.
Applications are sought for librarians with 5 or more years of Information Literacy teaching experience at the college level. IL Librarians may support a range of disciplines but we are also seeking librarians with subject expertise in the following areas:

Librarians will work between 10 and 20 hours per week; the hourly salary range is approximately $40.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Contracts are for 1-2 semesters, renewable. The Library will provide computing equipment (laptop) and professional development opportunities. Stipends may be provided for campus visits and conference attendance is supported after the 2nd successful semester.
Typical Job Responsibilities may include the following:
● Design & deliver Information & Digital Literacy related workshops
● Design & create learning objects, LibGuides, and tutorials
● Respond to research & reference inquiries
● Participate in collection development, assessment activities
● Mentor student employees
● Schedule and attend virtual 'office hours'
● Participate in various functional teams or working groups
● Participate in meetings and professional development events
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
● MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institution, or an advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
● 5 or more years of college level teaching experience within any of the above subject liaison areas
● Demonstrated ability to design and implement practical training modules/tools
● Experience using technology to support service innovation and productivity enhancements
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Xavier University of Louisiana, founded by St. Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1925, is Catholic and historically Black.
