Assistant Coach with vertical/horizontal jumps and hurdle experience. Responsibilities: 1.Assist the head coach in the overall operation of the program 2.Monitor academic progress of individual players 3.Evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes per NAIA rules 4.Assist the Strength & Conditioning Coach when needed 5.Creating a safe and comfortable athletic and professional environment for student-athletes and with athletic department staff 6.Compliance with policies, procedures and rules of Xavier, Red River Athletic Conference, and the NAIA 7.Participate with fundraising, community outreach programs as well as club activities to promote the Cross Country and Track & Field programs as an integral part of the community and the University 8.Serve as a mentor to the student-athlete 9.Hire and train managers 10.Other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation.
A bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited college or university, with previous successful college coaching and/or running experience preferred. A strong commitment to the student first concept and a working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations is required. Strong organization, oral, written communication and computer skills are required. Working knowledge of social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).
A demonstrated ability to recruit and work with culturally diverse groups of people is required.
