The Sr. Biostatistician is responsible for providing biostatistics leadership for clinical and basic research and is directly responsible for the statistical integrity, adequacy, and accuracy of research projects. As part of a research team, assumes leadership for the biostatistics activities related to portions of specific project(s) by providing sound strategic, statistical and scientific input on project objectives, experimental design, and data analysis to meet project needs and scientific requirements. Reviews all project protocols, author protocol statistical analysis sections and generate study randomizations. Performs quality checks on all data outputs including analyses and clinical study reports. Programs summary tables, data listings and graphical representations of research project data. Authors statistical analysis results in study reports. Provides support for investigator publications by contributing to discussion and preparation of publications and presentations.
Performs statistical analyses.
Consults with Research Investigators throughout studies.
Assists in research grant development and execution of funded studies.
Oversees development of biostatistics support unit.
Supports the achievement of research departmental goals.
Other related duties as required.
Required - Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology or related field
Preferred - PhD degree
Required-3 years experience in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related field working in medical research.
3 years working with one or more the following programming languages - R, SAS, SQL, or Python
3 years of direct experience working for an academic medical center , healthcare payer, or provider group
Track record that demonstrates technical contributions to grant proposals and manuscript preparation
Preferred- 3 years of experience analyzing and summarizing clinical and financial data derived from disparate and heterogeneous sources - payer claims, electronic medical records, patient surveys, etc.
Experience conducting geomapping and geospatial analysis of large data sets
Familiarity with the theory and methods underlying applied health services and population health research
Experience collaborating with and providing services on behalf of executives and physicians
