Stuart Hall School for Boys seeks an enthusiastic, experienced, and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of Advancement. The Director is responsible for strategic fundraising planning and developing, implementing, and coordinating funding strategies for annual and capital campaigns. The Director works closely with the Head of School, senior leadership team, Board of Trustees, and Parents’ Club to establish fundraising strategies, initiatives, and objectives to accomplish its advancement goals.
The ideal candidate interacts effectively with all constituencies of the School community, operates with complete integrity, understands the role that trust plays in creating community and building a successful development program, and is able to roll up their sleeves to get work done. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five to ten years of prior experience leading and managing fundraising campaigns are required. The Director of Advancement will be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality and has solid experience being part of a team effort.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Collaboratively design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive fundraising program designed to broadly support the mission and strategic goals of the School.
Implement all development efforts and programs, including annual giving, major gifts, alumni relations, events, capital, endowment, and planned giving goals.
Lead and coordinate the efforts of the development team and volunteers in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.
Support the Head of School in all advancement activities.
Partner with the Development Committee to develop and implement longer-term advancement initiatives and engage the Board of Trustees in fundraising goals and initiatives.
Work closely with Parents’ Club to cultivate volunteer & community engagement.
Oversee Development Office operations, including donor files and database, gift accounting and acknowledgments, pledge collection, creation of financial records, alumni databases and other records, and compliance with school policy and philanthropic best practices.
Externally represent Stuart Hall to current and prospective constituencies.
