Assistant Professor Chemistry-Analytical

The Department of Chemistry at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applicants for a tenure track position in analytic chemistry at the assistant professor level to begin for fall 2021. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related area; experience teaching at the undergraduate level; experience mentoring undergraduate students in research; and a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds and pre-college academic preparation. Our ACS-approved chemistry department is equipped with major and modern instrumentation that is used in both our teaching and research. Our faculty members are active scholars, who lead externally funded research and pedagogical projects. Applications are encouraged from applicants with a strong background in any current or emerging areas of analytical chemistry. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, minimizing barriers, and increasing equity and completion rates between members of different demographic groups. About our Department and the Position The Department of Chemistry at Xavier University of Louisiana is one of the highest-ranked undergraduate programs in the country for students from underrepresented areas in the sciences. The Department offers several degree programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the undergraduate level only.
