The Louise S. McGehee School is now accepting applications for a dynamic, innovative Physics and Environmental Science Teacher for the upper school who enthusiastically invests his or herself in all aspects of the science education process and the school-wide community. Qualified candidates will possess an educational background in Conceptual Physics and Environmental Science and will have at least two years of classroom teaching experience, ideally in an all-girls or independent school setting. Master’s degree in education or science-related field is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a passion for teaching and leading
Teach with an exceptional understanding of Physics and Environmental Science.
Create dynamic sequential lesson plans that meet the needs of the students and include hands-on, inquiry based activities.
Willingness to participate in student advisory, club sponsorship, carpool, lunch supervision, etc.
Be an active member of the upper school faculty.
Clearly and effectively communicate with faculty, students, and parents.
